News Release for July 14, 2018 Opening:

"RENAISSANCE", is the theme of the gala reopening of two galleries at 278 Biscay Road, Damariscotta, after being closed for 10 years.

The Galleries will be open to the public from 6 to 9, Saturday, 14 July 2018.

BACKROADS GALLERY, will show works by a group of 12 invited (most of whom exhibited here for many years) artists, mostly from Maine – although at least one from as far away as North Carolina. Works, in many styles and media, will be offered for sale. Host for this gallery will be Joel LeVasseur.

ANOTHER SEASON ANTIQUES, will offer antiques – mostly American – 17th, 18th, and early 19th c. Many are rare or seldom appear on the open market today. A few are from the host’s – Ed Oestreich - private collections, featured in various publications. All of these, too, will be offered for sale.

Most art offerings can be viewed inside the barn, while large, iron sculptures stand outdoors in the sunken garden, as well as in other of the various gardens in the 4.5 acre location – surrounded by meadows, woods and a small woodland brook, just 14 miles from Pemaquid Point. Antiques are all located in the shop, 1st floor, adjacent to - and connecting with - the downstairs art gallery.

The galleries will be open from July 14 through September 1, 2018, Thursday through Saturday, noon to 5.
